Reprocess the past. Reclaim your voice. Reconnect with yourself.
EMDR Therapy in Miami & Across Florida
No matter what you do, the voice inside your head keeps saying that you aren’t good enough.
You feel lonely and you’re wondering if there’s something wrong with you, since everybody else seems to have things figured out.
It’s like there’s a disconnect between what you know logically and how you’re feeling. You’re tired, and you know something has to change, but maybe you’ve tried therapy before this, and it didn’t feel like it made a big enough difference… or maybe you just didn’t click with your therapist. You want to get to the root of the problem so you can finally have the life you want.
You probably learned to minimize your pain and push through. You might even wonder if it even counts as trauma, since it “wasn’t that bad”. But what you do know, is that you’re ready for something to change. Traditional talk therapy can be helpful, but sometimes it doesn’t go deep enough.
That’s where EMDR therapy comes in.
What is EMDR?
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a type of psychotherapy designed to help you heal from symptoms and emotional distress from difficult life experiences. These could be anything in your life that’s been notably traumatic and challenging, to less obvious things like negative beliefs about yourself.
EMDR therapy works by accessing your brain’s natural ability to heal itself.
EMDR helps you access memories through bilateral stimulation, which could be side-to-side eye movements, taps, or sounds. This helps the brain process the traumatic memories and the emotions that come with them in a more effective, healthier way—literally allowing you to heal and move forward instead of staying stuck.
Preparation & goal‑setting
Before we jump into the reprocessing part of EMDR, we’ll get to know each other better and establish your goals for EMDR. We'll discuss what's going on in your life right now—stress, relationships, and challenges—as well as your coping skills and support systems.
01
THE 3-Step PROCESS of EMDR
Processing with bilateral stimulation
You’ll bring to mind the thoughts, emotions, and body sensations tied to the goals we set in the first stage while doing the eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation. This bilateral stimulation helps your brain reprocess the memory so it no longer feels as charged. You won’t have to relive every detail; EMDR helps you observe the memory from a different perspective, allowing desensitization and installation of positive beliefs.
02
Integration & strengthening
Lastly, we’ll reinforce new insights, emotions, and beliefs, and integrate them into your present life.

Yes! Studies show EMDR is effective whether delivered in weekly one‑on‑one sessions or intensive formats, and remote sessions can be just as beneficial. I use a secure, HIPAA‑compliant platform that allows for smooth bilateral stimulation on your screen, so you can heal from the comfort of your own home.

EMDR isn’t just for survivors of severe incidents. If you experienced ongoing emotional neglect, invalidation, or generational guilt, these experiences can still dysregulate your nervous system. EMDR can help you process and release them.

EMDR can be incredibly effective, but it’s important to have a solid foundation of coping skills before diving into processing. If you’re prone to dissociation or panic attacks, we may start with other therapies or somatic work to build safety.

We begin with a free 20‑minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. If we decide to work together, we’ll schedule a 60‑minute intake session, discuss your goals, and map out a plan. Some clients do weekly EMDR sessions; others choose intensives for faster progress.
