Nicole Mendizabal, Hispanic Therapist for Women in Miami & Across FL

YOUR NEEDS MATTER. AND THEY DESERVE TO BE MET.

Nicole Mendizabal, Miami Hispanic therapist, smiling warmly in a welcoming setting.

This is a rollercoaster ride you never signed up for.

You worry so much about what others think of you and itโ€™s hard to tune out the self-doubts that keep playing on repeat in your head. Setting boundaries? It's like walking a tightrope. You're worried that if you say "no,โ€ people will be upset with you or think you're selfish.

In relationships, it's even harder. Expressing your feelings is like walking on eggshells. You're afraid of being โ€œtoo muchโ€ or not enough, so you bury your emotions hoping the people around you will somehow understand what you need without you having to spell it out. Itโ€™s like youโ€™d rather feel uncomfortable yourself, rather than make anybody else feel that way. Because of how much you do for others, youโ€™re starting to feel underappreciated and have a sense of resentment since the efforts you make for everybody else seem to constantly go unnoticed.

On top of everything else, your mind feels like it takes ten different detours before you can get back to your original thought. You feel distracted, overwhelmed, anxiousโ€”or even like thereโ€™s something wrong with you and it feels lonely. It would be nice to just feel confident and capable of handling anything life throws at youโ€ฆbut is that really even possible?

Modern therapy that's
uncomplicated. personal. relatable. honest. validating.

The life you want is closer than you think.

A lot of the time therapy is focused on just the mental part of your wellbeing. I like to view things holisticallyโ€”more than just your mind, but your body and spirit tooโ€”and believe in a whole-person approach. So what does that mean? Itโ€™s an approach to therapy that looks at your entire lifestyleโ€”not just therapy as a type of โ€œmental health treatmentโ€ but as an interconnected perspective about everything thatโ€™s going on in your life. This can be beneficial if youโ€™re looking for something thatโ€™s more than just traditional talk therapy. When we take a look at whatโ€™s causing problems and how theyโ€™re showing up in different parts of your life, weโ€™re able to discover who you really are and what you need.

Whatโ€™s happening to you doesnโ€™t mean youโ€™re broken, especially if youโ€™re experiencing something like anxiety or ADHD. It just means you experience the world a little differently.  As someone with ADHD and anxiety myself, I know firsthand the challenges that come from living in a world that's not always built for people like us. And therapy isn't about fixing you, it's about understanding yourself and feeling empowered to make the changes youโ€™ve been wanting.

I know that sometimes it feels like itโ€™s hard to know whatโ€™s best for you, but here your needs always come first. Think of this experience as a fresh startโ€”Iโ€™m here as a listening ear and validating voice. Iโ€™ll help you feel comfortable while throwing a little humor into the mix and encouraging you to be yourself. Here, nothing is off-limits! You can cry, curse, laughโ€”you name it. I want you to feel comfortable expressing all the parts of yourself so you can feel less anxious, find confidence in yourself & your relationships, and tap into who you really want to be.

friendly reminder โ€”

Your mental health is more important than constantly taking care of other peopleโ€™s feelings.

I believe thatโ€ฆ

True wellness means looking at all parts of youโ€”including the systems, cultures, and backgrounds that have made you who you are today.

Nicole Mendizabal, Miami therapist, smiling with her therapy dog.

As a Hispanic therapist, I recognize that cultural influences play a big role in our own well-being. Itโ€™s important to remember that the expectations of families, culture, and the systems we live in can impact our mental health significantly. The work I do helps you embrace your cultural heritage and honors where youโ€™ve come from and where you want to go while prioritizing your mental and emotional health.
