EMDR INTENSIVES IN West Palm Beach & ACROSS FL

It’s scary to feel so much when you’ve spent years trying to “numb” it all.

You’ve been avoiding your feelings and pretending everything's okay but deep down you know it’s not. Things from your childhood or experiences throughout your life keep coming up and it’s difficult to even think about facing them.

No matter what you do, the voice inside your head keeps saying that you aren’t good enough. You feel lonely and you’re wondering if there’s something wrong with you, since everybody else seems to have things figured out.

It’s like there’s a disconnect between what you know logically and how you’re feeling. You’re tired, and you know something has to change, but therapy before this didn’t feel like it made a big enough difference… or maybe you just didn’t click with your therapist.

What if a different kind of therapy could be the answer?

You might have heard of EMDR therapy online. But what is it, really?

Office of Nicole Mendi, a Miami EMDR intensive therapist.

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a type of psychotherapy designed to help you heal from symptoms and emotional distress from difficult life experiences. These could be anything in your life that’s been notably traumatic and challenging, to less obvious things like negative beliefs about yourself.

EMDR therapy works by accessing your brain’s natural ability to heal itself. EMDR helps you access memories through bilateral stimulation, which could be side-to-side eye movements, taps, or sounds. This helps the brain process the traumatic memories and the emotions that come with them in a more effective, healthier way—literally allowing you to heal and move forward instead of staying stuck.

EMDR intensives give you a quicker way to get personalized treatment without waiting. They fit your schedule and focus on your specific goals. Sometimes it’s hard to stay focused or see progress in traditional talk therapy, so an intensive offers a focused, modern approach that can help you find lasting healing without taking months (or years) for you to feel a difference.

You are
worthy as you are. good enough. loveable. growing & learning. more than what’s happened.

90-minute pre-intensive session

Before we jump into the intensive itself, we’ll get to know one another better and establish our goals for our time together. We'll talk about what's going on in your life right now—stress, relationships, and challenges—and where you're looking for some relief, where you want to grow, and where you're ready to take a leap forward.

01

THE PROCESS

Intensive session

Through EMDR therapy, we use deep-level brain and body processing. This allows us to tackle tough spots head-on while tapping into your brain’s ability to grow and heal. We'll discover the different types of coping strategies that work best for you. Depending on your unique and personal goals, we might process your past, your present, or even your future worries.

02

1-hour post-intensive session

We’ll debrief together and reflect on what you processed and learned throughout the intensive. This is an opportunity to explore what was meaningful for you and create a plan for integrating your new insights and transformation into your life going forward.

Common questions about EMDR Intensives

  • If you've been in talk therapy before but aren't sure why you haven't gotten the level of change you’ve been wanting, intensives would be a good fit.

Other reasons you might be a good fit:

    • You're looking for a deeper type of therapy that can bring quick changes in your life.

    • You're still affected by painful experiences from your past.

    • You have some time off and want to use it for mental wellness.

    • You've tried Brainspotting or EMDR before and found it helpful.

    • You're preparing for a big life event and want to be ready.

    • You go to therapy regularly but feel stuck and think an Intensive might help.

I realize that sometimes you don’t have months or weeks to spare and that life can be hectic with your schedule. EMDR intensives offer a rapid, impactful experience that can help you resolve or move forward from what you’re struggling with.

  • EMDR Intensive packages start at $1,620. This type of therapy is a more significant investment, but the long-term value and impact on your personal growth and well-being is 100% worth it. Intensives can be more cost-effective and save you time by resolving one or multiple issues in an intensive that might actually take double the amount of time or more in traditional talk therapy.

Payment plan options are available upon request.

  • I offer EMDR intensives both in-person and online. Clients have to be in the state of Florida (not residents of FL) to be able to participate in the intensive.

  • After booking, I hold the dates for one week and require you to complete all of your paperwork in the client portal. I then charge a non-refundable deposit of half the total intensive cost. I charge the full fee for canceled or rescheduled sessions with less than 24 hours' notice, or no-shows. I make exceptions for unavoidable conflicts or emergencies and will work with you to offer other arrangements to avoid the cancellation fee.

  • I offer a variety of EMDR intensives and we’ll determine the best format for you during your initial consultation. A 1-day intensive provides many resources to boost performance and confidence or reduce the impact of trauma, such as negative thoughts and emotions. A 2-3-day intensive can lead to more efficient and impactful change than weekly 50-minute sessions or a half-day intensive.

Typically, the intensive session starts at 3 hours, while the pre-intensive is 90 minutes and the post-intensive is 60 minutes. All three of these sessions are scheduled separately and not back-to-back.

I also offer Brainspotting Intensives & Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy which you can learn more about here. You can get a better understanding of what package may be the best and most supportive for you based on our consultation call, via phone or Zoom.

  • Even though intensive therapy is an amazing support for many people to feel much better in a faster timeline, most insurance companies do not cover them, unfortunately.

  • An intensive is like a personal retreat. You can expect to find a therapy experience tailored specifically for you and what you’re struggling with. Following the intensive, I recommend prioritizing self-care activities like exercise, acupuncture, massage, and cooking.
